The IICRC-approved Applied Structural Drying (ASD) class provides in-depth, hands-on training aimed at teaching the effective, efficient and timely drying of water-damaged structures and contents.  This IICRC approved class takes place in both the classroom and the “flood house”.  This dynamic training combines classroom instruction with practical application .  The class is conducted in both the classroom and a IICRC approved Applied Structural Drying facility (Flood House).  Students will engage in various tasks, including water extraction, moisture mapping and documenting the extent of the damage.

With the Applied Structural Drying Class, we begin to focus more on the structure.  This training is performed “hands-on” in a flooded residential structure, with the focus placed on proper techniques of extraction, setting up equipment, monitoring and documenting the structural drying sequence properly from inception through completion of the job.

Emphasis is placed on:

  • Health and Safety

  • Psychometrics

  • Proper Techniques of extraction and the different types of equipment

  • Properly setting up equipment

  • Inspection Equipment

  • Chemicals
