Desiccant Boot Camp - In-Person Training

The “Desiccant/Generator Boot Camp” course, offered by Dan Boot of Garrett McKenzie, Inc is an intensive 8-hour session designed specifically for experienced water damage professionals. This workshop emphasizes hands-on training and in-depth knowledge to enhance skills in several critical areas, emphasis is placed on: 

  • Pre-start-up Checks: Includes a plan for access, equipment inspection, checking filter conditions, and ensuring secure electrical connections.

  • Ducting System Setup: Hands-on training in setting up and securing Flex and Lay Flat ducting systems, focusing on proper angling, tie-offs, and maintaining static pressure.

  • Generator Operations: Covers the entire process from startup to operational checks, including voltage verification, fluid level assessment, and post-operation maintenance.

  • Troubleshooting: Provides essential techniques for diagnosing and resolving issues with generators and desiccant systems.

  • Electrical Distribution: Explains key concepts like the difference between KW and KVA and includes practical exercises on how to calculate generator sizing based on power requirements.

Participants will leave the course with a robust set of skills that improve their efficiency and effectiveness in managing water damage restoration projects, ensuring they can handle complex scenarios with confidence.
