Health and Safety Technician (HST)

The Live Streaming IICRC approved Health and Safety Technician (HST) certification covers occupational health and safety. Students will demonstrate competency in cleaning, maintenance, and restoration industries in compliance with the Global Harmonized System (GHS) and health and safety principles.  

Emphasis is placed on: 

  • Engineering and administrative controls

  • Work practices

  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) used in each specific industry or trade

The HST certification promotes the importance of hazard and risk assessments and implementing controls on the identified hazards. The hierarchy of hazard controls is emphasized so that eliminating, reducing, and controlling hazards will become the focus of health and safety instead of just regulatory compliance.  

By obtaining the IICRC Health and Safety Technician certification, you will show that you possess the essential skills, , knowledge, and awareness to save lives and prevent work-related injuries and illnesses and recognize and recognize and understand the critical value of health and safety in the workplace. 

The IICRC Health and Safety Technician Class is a 3-day class, held via a Zoom link.  Participants will receive an email with all necessary links and information, to include the class manual and handouts, will be provided prior to class, along with instructions to register for the exam at www.iicrc.org.
